Meet Greg Miller, our May facilitator of the month!

We asked him to tell us about his experience with conducting KiwiSaver reviews for his clients, what it is like working with us, and some of his favourite things about his job. See what he had to say!

Working with Kōura:

Greg has been referring customers to Kōura for the past six months and has already been impressed with the positive impact he has seen in his customers.

“I certainly find the process simple. It is important that clients get the correct advice and Kōura gives me the confidence that my clients are receiving that. Whether it be for a deposit on their house or for their retirement, I know Kōura are giving my clients the best advice from qualified people,” Greg said.

He said the Kōura method was quick, easy, and highly responsive. All of this added up to the client feeling they are being looked after.

KiwiSaver is becoming more and more a primary savings vehicle for first home buyers, so it was crucial that mortgage advisers make sure their clients are in the right type of fund.

“It is a massive vehicle to help people into houses. Without KiwiSaver we wouldn’t be able to help 70% of our clients into homes, it is hugely important for us and our clients. Which is why we partner with koura, we know they understand this and advise our clients accordingly”.

 

What do you love about the job?

Greg was drawn into this line of work through his love of New Zealand property market, and its life changing opportunities for home ownership or passive income for the average kiwi.

“I’m a huge believer in Property and helping people reach their goals and getting them into their first homes. That was my primary reason for becoming an adviser.”

Greg, and his business have a very high conversion rate for his customers who are choosing to shift to Kōura. He explains that special attention and a personable service is what enables him to achieve this.

“We offer a very personalised service. We meet over 90% of our clients in person for the first meeting. We find this builds the customer’s confidence in us, and we get a far better understanding of their situation and what it is going to take to help them reach their goals”

“So once that trust has been built up with a personal bespoke service, the clients are more susceptible to any type of referral recommendations we make. We also offer a high level of service ourselves, and it is great to know when I send my clients to koura, they can expect and will get that same level of service.”

 

Favourite moments from your career?

Greg has a particular love for helping first home buyers navigate the complicated world of property purchase and buy their first home.

“I really feel like I am on the journey with them. Particularly those clients that might think they are not in a position purchase just yet, and during our first meeting I let them know that we can do this right now and tell them they can start house hunting, just seeing the look on their face and the excitement, it just makes you feel great,” Greg said.

Greg says he loves going along the house buying journey with his clients and he often finds himself getting just as excited as they do.

“To be able to help people get into their first home, to help them achieve a dream they never thought possible, to me that’s just magic.”
